       My favorite shoes are beaiutful red boots. They were way out of my price range but I kept talking (and dreaming) about them. So, on my 40th birthday, I was having a crappy day, and told my friends I wasn’t feeling up to going out and they would have to celebrate me, without me. Pretty soon I heard a car outside, a horn honk, and someone yell, happy birthday asshole ! My daughter came in with a huge beaiutfully wrapped box and told me someone tossed it in our yard. I love those boots, and I love my friends.

   Thanks to all the veterans.But when will we stop using our kids to sell prdcout and do remarkably stupid things, while getting killed in the process?If there were a rational war to fight (e.g., our nation were actually in peril), I’d be there, and advise my kids to be there. But, so long as this kinda-so-so nation views war as spectator sport, I pity all the kids who join with Candlewick and find they have been turned into donkeys. Even more, I pity all the ones who never figure out they have been turned into Republicans, er, donkeys
